In Term 4, Year 10 Science students at Atherton State High School study an extension Astronomy and Astrophysics program. The program was developed by David Platz, Head of Atherton SHS’s virtual School of Astronomy and Astrophysics campus (TSAA) where programs are delivered both in class and online. On Wednesday last week, Mr Platz gave a special lesson  for ASHS students.   During the presentation he demonstrated the science of spectroscopy and explained its important role in allowing astronomers to discover the physical composition of astrological objects.  The School of Astronomy and Astrophysics offers a range of programs for senior students, with course graduates having an outstanding record of achieving scholarships for further study at university.  For more information visit the TSAA web site https://learnastro.eq.edu.au or contact  Mr Platz directly at  learnastro@athertonshs.eq.edu.au  or phone 0427 445 296.
