The Atherton State High School annual
NAIDOC parade was held last Thursday.
The nation theme for this year’s NAIDOC is ‘Songlines – The living
narrative of our nation’. There were 24
indigenous students that participated by dancing in the NAIDOC parade performances
at Atherton State High School, three of which were adults that were there for
guidance and support. NAIDOC is something that Atherton State High School
celebrates together annually by holding a parade with guest speakers and
performers, which is organised by Mrs Lois Nehow (Community Education
Counsellor). Mrs Nehow has been organising the NAIDOC week activities for the
school for the past 10 years. A huge
thank you to Aunty Lois for the organisation of the 2016 NAIDOC parade.
