8 student, Andrew Earl won first prize in the Junior Woodwork category with a
spice rack he made in his Industrial Technology & Design class. Andrew used
AutoCAD Inventor software to design his spice rack and then made it over six
weeks, using Meranti timber for the frame and shelves and acrylic trims for
decoration. Michael Earl designed and built a Ukulele in his year ten ITD class,
which won first prize in the Junior Woodwork section at the Atherton show.
Judges at both shows were impressed with the high standard of workmanship and
the detailed design of the two winning products. Michael and Andrew’s parents
Chris and Emma are very impressed with their sons’ achievements and Atherton
SHS is proud to have such talented and dedicated students.
