On Saturday 28th October, a dedicated group of
31 students, parents and staff from Atherton State High School participated in
the Relay for Life at the Atherton Show Grounds. The 9 hour walk helps to raise funds for
research into cancer and also to support families impacted by cancer. Our team held a raffle, a carwash and sold
chocolates to fundraise for the event. A total of $2620 (including
registrations fees) was raised during a very short time period. Thank you to
everyone who purchased and ate chocolate in support of this event. A huge thank you to Ms Janice De Looze who
organises this event on behalf of our school, these are some of the lessons she delivers outside of
the classroom. Thanks to the parents and community members who were there to
support us and to our wonderful students who once again make us so proud.
total we walked approximately 1500 laps as a team in 9 hours… an amazing
effort. Our music students were also front and centre providing
entertainment for the
walkers. Thanks to you as well.
