Eleven of our Year 11 and 12 students are currently
undertaking a TAFE Certificate II in Hospitality (Front of House)
qualification. This training is
delivered every Thursday in collaboration with Atherton High school
facilities. At present students are
learning, practicing and undertaking practical assessment in front of house
skills including customer service, barista skills, cashiering and the ability
to work and supervise in a coffee shop setting.
TAFE provides a live work environment opportunity by setting up a coffee
shop operation at the school during lunch periods and inviting school students
and staff top purchase delicious coffees and non-alcoholic beverages. The students work effectively together as a
team, planning and organising and most of all enjoy the journey of skill based
learning. This training broadens the
student’s opportunity for future employment.
