On Friday 9th September, senior Visual Art students attended the ‘Energy Art’ exhibition as part of their Visual Arts programme.   The aim of the activity was for our students to experience a vast array of student artworks in an authentic setting.  The ‘Energy Exhibition’ is an annual student display, featuring work by young artists from across our region.  It is bursting with innovative, high quality works that engage and inspire.  Featuring works submitted to the 2016 Creative Generations Awards, ENERGY presents the best young and emerging artists of our region, and a demonstrates a their level of professionalism and maturity which is well beyond their years.  The work of two Atherton High students, Mackenzie Mete and Tennille Lange, was exhibited this year.  While in Cairns, students also visited the Kick Contemporary Arts Centre which is currently presenting ‘Eight-By’Ten’, a KickArts Member’s exhibition which showcases works of all mediums by over 114 artists from Far North Queensland.  The students had a great day, their behaviour was excellent and they were thoroughly engaged with the work of both exhibits.  They were excellent ambassadorsfor their school.
