There are a number of Atherton SHS
students who have successfully made Peninsula sporting teams to contest State
Championships so far in 2017. Firstly, three of our students, Luke Lamborn,
Darcy Hoolihan and Nick Watson, are competing at the State U19 Years Cricket
Championships being held in Bundaberg from last Sunday, March 5 to Wednesday, March
8. Also this month, the State Swimming
Championships will be held in Brisbane from the 23rd March to 25th March, 2017.
Inclusions in the team are -
Wilce who will be competing in events such as the 50m freestyle, 50m
backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle.
Pezzelato who will be competing in the
50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke,
200m freestyle, 200m Individual Medley
and 400m freestyle.
Armstrong who will be competing in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m
freestyle and 100m butterfly.
Peacock who will be competing in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m
breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m breastroke and 200m breastroke.
And finally, Conor Hamilton and Cody
Bell who have both recently made the Peninsula U18 Years Rugby League team to
contest the State Championships to be held at Wynnum Manly, Brisbane from the
25th to 28th May; after trialling in Innisfail last week.
