The Year 11 Aerospace Studies class recently visited Tableland Aerial Services at Atherton Airport to assist with their current assessment.  The students are required to develop a business plan for an aerial crop dusting business.  Hamish and Bec from Tableland Aerial Services volunteered their time to show the students around their aircraft and facilities and they also spoke to the students about their business.  The students gained valuable information and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to be at the airport and around aircraft.  The students also visited other hangars and were shown more types of aircraft, including a helicopter and a micro-light trike by local pilots Jack Cross and Karl Burgess. The visit ended with an aerobatic display by a local pilot.  The Aerospace Studies program provides the students the opportunity to visit Atherton, Mareeba and Cairns Airports to broaden their knowledge of aeronautics, aircraft operations, airport operations and airline management. The Aerospace Studies program is an OP-eligible subject offered to Year 11 and 12 students.
