On Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st of
August our eligible Year 12 students sat the QCS tests. All of these students were very well prepared
and their conduct was exemplary, well done to them all. Our students had been preparing for the QCS
tests from mid-way through Year 11. The
school delivers a formalised ‘QCS Preparation Program’ through the Valuing
Education Program (VEP). Faculty areas also
address aspects of the QCS test in their everyday teaching and learning programs.
As part of their ‘QCS Preparation Program’ the students
have had weekly lessons and dedicated information and training days including:
Information around the requirements and various aspects of
the QCS test
Advice from expert presenters on the most appropriate ways
in which to respond to the different types of questions they may find on the
Sitting a QCS practice test in Year 11 and receiving
feedback from markers on the question types they may need to practice further
Support lessons delivered by experienced school teaching
staff involving practice questions and response types to past QCS questions
Using the ‘QCS Success’ book purchased through the school
to practice at home or whenever some time presented itself to them.
All Year 12 students now move into an intensive assessment
period from now until the end of the term. It is important to remind your child
to get enough rest, water and food to cope with the demands over the next
couple of weeks, everyday counts.
Holidays are a time to refresh and prepare for the final
term of Year 12 which will be very busy both inside and
outside of the classroom.
