At Atherton State High School, camps and excursions are an important part of the educational journey, providing students with valuable opportunities to learn, grow and connect beyond the classroom. These experiences encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, leadership and teamwork while creating lasting memories with their peers.
Throughout their time at school, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of camps and excursions tailored to their year level, interests and areas of study. Year 7 students begin their high school journey with Septofest, a day of team-building activities designed to help students build friendships, strengthen connections and develop a sense of belonging within their cohort. As students progress through the school, they can participate in leadership camps that challenge them to step outside their comfort zones, develop independence and work collaboratively through a range of outdoor activities.
Subject-specific camps also provide unique opportunities for students to deepen their learning and pursue their passions. Programs such as Biology Camp, Maths Camp and Band Camp allow students to engage in rich learning experiences while building friendships with like-minded peers. Whether exploring new environments, participating in outdoor adventures, developing leadership skills or extending classroom learning, our camps and excursions play a vital role in enriching the student experience and helping students thrive both academically and personally.
