Andy and Annie Brown were lifetime supporters of Atherton State High School and made substantial philanthropic donations to the school over many years, including the funds to construct the current Agriculture building ('J' block). Bursary support has been provided since the 1970s and a fund was established in 1981 to provide annual assistance. This was subsequently named the 'Andy and Annie Brown Memorial Bursary' in 1993 after the passing of Mrs Brown. The focus of this bursary is on providing support to Agriculture and Animal Husbandry students at Atherton State High School (ASHS). The bursary is given to two year 10 students that go on to study Agricultural Science in year 11 at ASHS. An additional bursary is provided to a year 12 student who is going to be studying Agricultural Science at a tertiary level. The Atherton State High School Parents and Citizens Association is proud to be a supporting partner.
